One-Hundred at $100 Sponsors
The Learning Center at The Els Center of Excellence is a Palm Beach County charter school serving students ages 3-14 with autism spectrum disorder. The Learning Center is located in Jupiter, Florida on the state-of-the-art Els Center of Excellence campus built by the Els for Autism Foundation to specifically meet the needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. The Learning Center shares the campus with The Learning Academy, a Palm Beach County charter school for students ages 14-21 with autism spectrum disorder; and the Els for Autism Foundation, a foundation whose mission is to better understand the aspirations of all people with autism spectrum disorder and to help them to fulfill their potential to lead positive, productive and rewarding lives.
The Learning Center currently serves over 100 students, with a maximum student-teacher ratio of 3:1. All of our teachers are certified in Exceptional Student Education (ESE). We have full-time speech and language pathologists, SLP assistants, full-time occupational therapists, BCBA/SLPs, and behavioral assistants on staff.
The Learning Center has received several grants from local and national organizations and foundations. We believe that it is very important to provide the best tools, staff, and environment for our students. This puts our operating costs over and above what the School District allocates to our school. We offset this through vigorous grant writing, fundraising, and support from community members and businesses.
